Please register before visiting us via phone or e-mail and pre-order archival materials by using the online orders counter in the archive catalogue. Some of our holdings are stored in external stockrooms. Please note that you may have to wait a little longer for archival materials that have been ordered from the external stockroom.
It is not possible to borrow archival materials from the State Archive.
You can search the online inventory for archival materials that you require and then order them for consultation in the reading room. To use the online ordering function, you must first open a user account.

Use the research portal «swisscovery Bern special libraries» to search our library holdings. It is not possible to reserve library materials. Please order them when you visit the reading room.
